I bought a punching bag and gloves.

When it arrived, I was up to my eyeballs in making garlic mashed potatoes and stuffing for Thanksgiving.

While my pumpkin muffins were cooling, I put on my gloves and took it for a test drive with bare feet. Using my entire body, focusing on the bag, moving to the music, I FELT ALIVE. I told Tom, “You have to try this! You have to do it.” He just sort of looked at me, and said, “I’m good. I believe you.”

I have decided to begin each day by “working it out” on the bag with 1-2 songs. I will add a song each week as necessary. By the time the inauguration rolls around in January, I should be at Rocky Balboa level status.

For those interested, here are the links for the Punching Bag and Gloves.

Without further adieu, I now present you with my …

I highly encourage you to move the emotions up and out of your body in a way that feels good for you. This is how we honor our journey. I happen to do it through writing, sitting shoulder to shoulder with women in circle, and more recently, punching the shit out a bag.

It will be okay.

I love you.
